Did you know that April 3rd is National Find a Rainbow Day? In order to find a rainbow outside, there has to be the perfect combination of rain and sunlight. Because we cannot control the weather, we will be creating our own rainbows to celebrate this holiday! 

In this class, we will complete 2 science experiments to create our own walking water rainbows! 

Our first experiment will be creating one big rainbow! We start by using markers to color the sides of a paper towel and then putting both ends into glasses of water. Watch as the water travels up the paper towel, creating a rainbow just like the one we drew! 

The second experiment will be creating a connecting rainbow! Using the same process as the first experiment, we will watch as water travels from cup to cup to create all the colors in the rainbow. We will only add water and coloring to half of the cups but we will watch as each cup is filled with water and a specific color!  

While we are experimenting, we will be discussing the science behind rainbows - how they are created, why they are colorful, and the importance of water and light.

Welcome! My name is Bayley and I’m so glad you’re here! 

I am passionate about teaching because for me, being an educator is not just a profession; it's a true calling that fills me with joy and purpose. As a teacher, my goal is to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of my students. I firmly believe that education is a transformative force that empowers individuals to reach their fullest potential. Guided by this belief, I strive to create a learning environment that fosters growth, curiosity, and a love for learning.

My teaching philosophy centers around equipping students with the tools they need to become lifelong learners. I place a strong emphasis on cultivating independent thinking and problem-solving skills, empowering students to expand on their knowledge and create innovative solutions. I am particularly passionate about children's literacy and recognize that being a skilled reader and critical thinker lays the foundation for lifelong learning.

My experience in education ranges from preschool to high school in various subjects through traditional classroom settings and private tutoring, online and in-person. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University's College of Education and Human Development. 

You will find a little bit of everything in my courses! Whether they focus on reading, science, math, or other subjects, I provide a safe and nurturing space where learners can take risks, be challenged, and develop the knowledge and skills they need to excel. I am dedicated to creating engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that every student feels seen, valued, and supported.

In addition to group classes, I also offer individual tutoring to provide personalized support to students who need it for any reason. This can include homework help, lessons over a specific topic, assistance in filling gaps in learning, enrichment, or test prep and study skills.
