In this class, we will work together to learn the steps needed to create each portion of our adorable dragons. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way. As a class, we will condition, cut, roll and form our pieces. Then we will assemble our body parts and get them prepared to be baked after class is over. The supplies are listed below and are necessary to complete the project. Students may personalize their dragon figures after the basics are discussed. Note that the teacher will be using Polymer Bake Clay, but Students may use whichever sculpting medium they are comfortable with. This is not a basic sculpting class. Some clay experience is necessary.

This is a safe, supportive space. Let's create beautifully unique Dragons!

Sculpting Medium (any brand/type you prefer. I like to use Sculpey III Polymer Clay).
Basic Sculpting tools, toothpick, smoothing tool, dotting tool (for eye sockets)
A cutting tool (clay knife, anything that you are comfortable with using)
A non stick surface to work on (You can cover a piece of cardboard with parchment paper and tape it to the bottom…that works)
A wooden toothpick or small piece of sculpting/jewelry wire for support
Clay colors: Any color combination you choose! I usually use a base of white or black with accents of colors.

**Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You will bake after class. Parental help is necessary.

Hi there! I'm Lori—a Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) graduate with over 30 years of experience in the design industry. My journey spans from fashion illustration, pattern making, and garment construction to designing full storyboards for buyers. I’ve also tutored aspiring fashion designers in fashion illustration, helping them build professional portfolios for industry interviews.

While my current profession is in graphic design, fashion illustration remains my creative escape from the digital world. I believe that mastering the fundamentals of design unlocks endless possibilities, allowing you to bring your creative visions to life.

When I'm not sketching or designing, you’ll find me spending time with my furry little beasts—because animals are another passion of mine!

Ready to explore the world of fashion design and illustration? Let’s create something amazing together!
