This Spanish class is geared to short attention spans and reluctant foreign-language speakers who still want to be introduced to the Spanish language, speak it when they feel comfortable, and review it as they like over the week! We will practice different kinds of phrases and dialogues each week by playing games and listening to simple books. This beginner version of the class is aimed to be accessible for those brand new to the language. If your child has been learning Spanish for a while or has more exposure, please see my courses listed with "intermediate" in the title. Learners will have lots of opportunities to interact but always have the option to pass. If they pass, I will still give them a turn from time to time to check if they want to speak. The lessons do not build on one another, and students may join in or leave on any week. The teacher will work to foster a welcoming environment, encouraging all students to do their personal best and be supportive of others in the process. Our class time will include the following: 1. Introduce new words and phrases. 2. Listen to our book of the week. 3. Play a game to further practice our target words and phrases of the week. 4. If time allows: quick quiz to review if the learners want to speak up and/or matching opportunity that works great if kids are able to annotate. (Annotation ability is helpful but not expected or required for the course!) This is our schedule for summer 2023: Week of June 4 - Talking about professions, Book: "¿Qué quieres ser?"
