This lesson is taught as a directional drawing with step-by-step guidance. We will start with the old-fashioned truck and add a large pumpkin in the back. Students may customize the picture as they wish! Instead of one large pumpkin, maybe they have several overlapping pumpkins. They may even add a driver, person or animal, to make it even more interesting. The background will have one large tree against a blue sky. Again, students may customize their background, if they prefer sunset colors with a pink truck, or maybe they are parked by a pumpkin farm with a scarecrow, anything goes! I will be using some warm colored crayons to create fall leaves to add to the scene. We will learn the wax crayon-resist technique and paint right on top of them with our watercolors. I can't wait to see how all of the fun trucks turn out!

Hi there! My name is Jessica Campbell and I was born to be an art teacher! 
I mainly teach lessons that are a combination of drawing and watercolor. I have a degree in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz, and have been teaching art since 2002. 
Not only have I taught in both public and private classrooms, but I also have run a successful art camp every summer for the past 15 years. At this point in my career, I have taught over 10,000 students! I am excited to work with even more in this virtual platform, especially now that my summer camps have been cancelled. 
My teaching philosophy is all about building confidence in my students. I have developed lessons that are designed to be simple, yet very successful. We work step by step to create amazing projects that families will want to display. When a child feels that their work is valued, it definitely encourages them to take even more risks and achieve greater things!
I live in Tampa, Florida with my husband, two kids and a dog named Bacon! I love dressing up in silly costumes and running half marathons (at the same time!) Hope to meet you soon!
