Having all "required" items below are essential to creating our first earrings. Read below for details on each item and you can also refer to an Amazon list for purchasing supplies.

SUPPLY DETAILS:
Required Materials for Class:
1. Round Nose Pliers (thin nose, round jaws) and Chain Nose Pliers (thin nose, flat jaws)
2. Wire Cutters
3. 18 or 20 gauge jewelry copper wire (thicker)
4. 24 or 26 gauge jewelry wire (thinner)
5. Bench block (recommended brand: Beadsmith)
6. Chasing hammer (recommended brand: Beadsmith)
7. Thin dowels of various diameters, OR you can use pencil(s) and thin marker(s) of various diameters
8. Small selection of beads (recommend: medium sized (such as pearls and crystals) and seed beads (size 11/0, 8/0, or 6/0)).

Helpful but not required:
9. Earring hooks/posts etc. (we can use store-bought earring hooks or we'll make our own!)
10. Jump rings (we will be learning to make our own, but having extra is helpful!)
11. Metal file
12. A single piece of felt or other fabric to use as a beading mat

Extra options (not required but if you have them, bring them!) 
13. Jewelry wire in different colors
14. Thing-a-ma-jig
15. Tool Magic (either to be applied to tools 24hrs before class or we'll discuss how to use it at the end of class)


ESTIMATED COSTS:
• Jewelry Pliers and Cutter Set:~ $10-$20
• Jewelry wire (18, 20, 24, and/or 26 gauge wire): ~$7/spool (Note: "g", or "gauge", refers to the thickness of the wire; the higher the number, the thinner the wire.)
• Bench block: ~$15
• Chasing hammer: ~$12
• Metal files: ~$3
• Tool Magic: ~$15
• Materials are available online or at your local craft store such as Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics. You can check your stores for coupons, such as saving a fixed percentage off your entire order. Feel free to ask any questions ahead of time regarding materials!

Parental assistance may be needed to help students with cutting wire and learning to make smaller loops with wire.
