このクラスで学べること
In this private ongoing tutoring class we will meet once a week to build your child's reading skills and confidence. Each class will be catered to address your child's specific reading needs. The first class, I will get to know your child as a reader. Then I will assess their phonics and sight word knowledge before I listen to them read. This will give me a better understanding where to start with your child. I will email you with a report and my advice so I can build a plan to strengthen their reading. Then we will begin with phonics instruction, sight word fluency, reading fluency with expression, and build reading comprehension skills. After 4 weeks of instruction, I will reassess your child in to determine growth and new areas of instructional need.

I am a classroom teacher with over 24 years of teaching experience. I currently teach 3rd grade but I have taught Preschool, Kindergarten, First grade, and Second grade. I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood education as well as Elementary education. I have an endorsement in ESL so I work with many students for whom English is not their first language. I also have a Masters degree as a Reading Specialist so I am passionate about helping students learn to read. I offer classes to help your child build strong reading foundational skills so they can grow as a reader, gain confidence, and hopefully learn to love reading.
I believe that learning should be fun yet productive. I believe that learning is a journey not a race and that all students develop at different rates. I have experience working with diverse learners and I have worked hard become proficient at providing differentiated instruction to fit the needs of all learners.
For fun, I enjoy playing with my son. He is 3 and we love to have dance parties and go on nature walks. We love to listen to the birds, and search for pine cones, leaves, and interesting rocks along the way.レビュー
