In this highly engaging class, students will learn to read and spell 20 sight words and 4 digraphs. In the class, we practice reading and spelling the sight words through choral response, visual aids (printed words on the screen), and flashcards. During each class, we read an emerging reader together and the child receives printable flashcards, worksheet, and an emerging reader for the week. Each class the students learn 5 new sight words and review the previously learned sight words through flashcard games and chants. My class is structured so students respond frequently and read aloud with one another. All activities are 3 minutes or less so students stay engaged. My teaching style includes total physical response and includes teaching with a PowerPoint and many props. We decode words following the digra[hs we learn each week.
