Hola! My name is Amy Rodde and I've been teaching Spanish at the high school level for about 25 years. I have taught all levels of Spanish from basic to advanced, and have worked with a variety of students with unique learning styles and abilities.  I have volunteered to teach English to Spanish-speaking adults. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education and Spanish and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with ELL endorsement. I studied abroad in Costa Rica. Though I am not a native speaker of Spanish, my fluency has reached a native level, and I can better understand how to help students like me who did not speak Spanish as children.  Finally I have over 40 hours of post-graduate work in all areas of education.  One of my favorite things to do is to tutor students and build their confidence. In learning a language, making mistakes is inevitable and necessary.  I strive to help my students to understand that making mistakes is okay, and encourage them to form a growth mindset. Finally, I enjoy having FUN with my students! My students make me laugh and always keep me entertained (and on my toes!). I love taking students to travel abroad and learn about the Spanish culture.  I have two children of my own. I love traveling with my family, watching my son play club volleyball, and spending time with my three dogs!
