Join Teacher Chimmy and learn to draw Disney’s Elsa, Jasmine, Ariel & Dolores on your own schedule! In this 4-week Flex class (pre-recorded classes), I will be demonstrating the step-by-step guide that I personally created to draw these 4 Disney princess favorites. Because these lessons are already recorded, students have the flexibility of what day/time they chose to take the class. Because I’m such a Disney fan, I’ll be in costume as my 2 favorite princesses (Moana and as Princess Jasmine) as I teach your student to draw Elsa, Jasmine, Ariel, & Moana from (from the shoulders/and or upper torso up). During lessons, I’ll be incorporating quick intermissions between the drawing steps with fun facts about each princess that we are drawing and the Disney movie that they’re from. Students are encouraged to follow along with the step-by-step drawing instructions, but are also welcome to have creative freedom with their drawings as well. The goal for this class is for your little artist to build their confidence in character drawing and to have a piece of art which they created that they are proud of. Let’s have fun drawing together! This Flex class focuses on these following art skills: - Cartoon style portrait development (face drawing & upper torso) - Step-by-step guided drawing process - Coloring detail & blending Week 1: Drawing Elsa from “Frozen” (I’ll be dressed as Princess Jasmine during this lesson.) This lesson will cover the 10 steps to drawing Elsa. I'll also be discussing some fun facts about Elsa and other characters from the Disney movie “Frozen,” like “What is Sven’s favorite food?” Week 2: Drawing Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin” (I’ll be dressed as Princess Jasmine during this lesson.) This lesson will cover the 10 steps to drawing Princess Jasmine from the Disney animated move “Aladdin.” I'll be throwing in some fun facts about Jasmine and other characters from the movie Aladdin, like “What are the names of the 2 monuments in Egypt that Aladdin & Jasmine fly over on their magic carpet ride?” Week 3: Drawing Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” (I’ll be dressed as Moana.) This lesson will cover the 10 steps to drawing Ariel from “The Little Mermaid.” The fun facts between slides will include answers to questions like: “What does Ariel comb her hair with?” and “How many sisters does Ariel have?’ Week 4: Drawing Moana (I’ll be dressed as Moana.) This lesson will cover the 12 steps that I've created for drawing Moana. As with the previous drawing classes, there will be fun facts throughout the lesson pertaining to the Disney movie Moana and its characters, like “What character from the movie “Frozen” does Maui shapeshift into?” To ensure that students can comfortably follow along with each step, they will be able to watch a video of myself explaining and drawing each step in detail while they draw. I will also be including printable tracing sheets for each princess for the first few drawing steps for any students that would like extra assistance. At the end of each lesson, during the coloring phase, I’ll review all the colors to use for each princess, and explain some tips and tricks on coloring with colored pencils (like how to make your drawing appear more realistic through the use of blending. ) Optional Interactive Class Experience: Outside of these recorded lessons, students may participate in Outschool classroom discussions or just simply choose to enjoy the recorded lessons. For students who’d prefer a more social connection to this class, I encourage them to share their answers to such questions as: “Who is your favorite Disney Princess or character/Why? What body part or facial feature do you find the most difficult to draw? Did you learn any fun facts from the videos that you did not already know? If they chose, students will have the opportunity to show off their work to the class by uploading it into the classroom. If your child loves dress-up/Disney cosplay as much as I do, they may also upload a picture of themselves in costume to show off! I enjoy communicating with students and will respond regularly to questions and comments. I'll also be reaching out in the Outschool classroom to check in with students and answer any questions they may have about the steps. Homework: The homework assignments will be simple because they will only consist of the student sending me their completed drawing of each princess. Materials needed for class: -#2 Pencil -8x10 sheet of paper (or larger is fine) -small eraser -colored pencils preferably (crayons are acceptable for younger children) -clipboard or flat surface to draw on I look forward to seeing your Disney Princess lover in class!
