Your child will get assessed on their letters, numbers, colors and shapes followed by an assessment every quarter. Show them how to stick the small end of the feathers in glue and then into the back of the pinecone. When they have enough feathers, have them glue the feet to the bottom of the pinecone, the pom pom on the front for the head, the eyes, beak, and waddle to the pom pom. Prep-work for mom- Out of felt, cut 2 feet, a yellow triangle beak, and a worm like red waddle for each child all proportionate to the size of pinecones you are using. Gather - many different colored feathers and a large black pom pom for each child, both proportionate to the size of pinecone you’ll be using, a pinecone for each child, 2 googly eyes per child, tacky glue --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Week of Nov. 20th: Theme/ W is for Wind #6. Letter of the Week: W Letter Pal: Walter the Watermelon Shape of the Week: Rectangle Color of the Week: Black & White Number of the Week: 2 Activities are as follows: Writing: W Rhythm & Movement: “Autumn Wind” Reading: Crayola Winter Colors Games: ABC Mouse -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Christmas Challenge: Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree NOTES/SUPPLIES Ornaments. Give your child their baggy of sticks. Have them paint the jumbo craft stick brown and the popsicle sticks green. Glue the popsicle sticks onto the big one with the longest skinny sticks at the bottom and the shortest at the top. Let dry and finish decorating tomorrow. Prep work for mom- Cut one regular sized popsicle stick in half. Cut an inch off of each end of two popsicle sticks and discard ends. Put the four resulting pieces –plus- two regular popsicle sticks –plus- one jumbo craft stick in a baggy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gather – one jumbo craft stick for each child, five regular popsicle sticks for each child, baggies, brown and green paint, paint brushes, glue
