In our virtual classroom we learn life skills and age appropriate curriculum together while having fun. The material is student-led. The teacher will engage each child by creating lessons around their interests. After working for several years in preschools and daycares, she is very skilled at including lessons within the fun and thinking on her feet! 

The Friendship Haven classroom is positive, welcoming and social. We enjoy using stories, props and role-play to enhance learning and comprehension. This class focuses on all types of animals. Marine animals, wild animals, farm animals, zoo animals, pet animals and more! Your child is welcome to bring an animal related item or pet to each class for show and tell. Learners can join or cancel at any time throughout the course. 

Each week we focus on a specific topic but the lesson will grow depending on learner interest. It's fun to see what happens when growing minds with similar interests get together!

Week of October 3: Primary Colors
Week of October 10: Patterns
Week of October 17: Numbers 1-10, Addition
Week of October 24: Animals Working Together
Week of October 31: Animal Classification/Sorting 
Week of November 7: Habitats 
Week of November 14: 'D' is for Dog

At Friendship Haven, our goal is for your child to gain the skills required for a lifetime of self-guided learning. As they show interest in different things around them, we will guide their curiosity with fun education.  In the virtual classroom we use components of Montessori teaching by finding common household objects to nurture engagement and understanding during class. Our pace and lessons will vary depending on the needs of each student and the class as a whole. Parents, I'd love to work together to make sure your child is accommodated in my classroom if required. Please reach out and we can make a plan together! ESL students are always welcome to join the fun ☺️

During this class students are allowed to freely speak and engage with the teacher and other students. Mute is often optional.
