๐ซ Welcome, Little Stars! ๐ซ Join us in a fun and exciting adventure as we learn how to read and solve math problems, together! Your little star will reach their full potential and have fun learning with new weekly themes, songs, and more every week! Our class is a safe, supportive, and happy place for all learners. In this class, we will learn and master all the skills your child needs to succeed in Kindergarten and build a strong early literacy, math, and social-emotional foundation. These skills include letters and sounds, phonics, math, colors, shapes, sight words, social skills, and more. They will receive expert guidance from a certified early elementary educator every step of the way. Our class will meet 2 times per week (Monday + Wednesday or Tuesday + Thursday). No class on Friday unless I notify parents otherwise. Each class will last 30 minutes. Each week, we will have a different theme and focus on 1 letter, 1 phonics skill, 2 sight words, 1 math skill, and a color/shape of the week. We will review the entire alphabet each reading block and numbers 0-20 each math block. ๐ ย This class is ongoing so your learner can join any week! ๐ ๐จย Circle Time ๐จ (Both Days): - Greetings/Hello Song - Review the calendar - Discuss the days of the week and months of the year ๐ย Reading Block ๐ย (Mondays/Tuesdays): - Review the alphabet - Focus on the letter of the week - Learn sounds and words associated with the letter - Practice writing - Sight words of the week - Fun brain break ๐งฎย Math Block ๐งฎ (Wednesdays/Thursdays): - Focus on the math skill of the week - Review numbers 0-20 - Counting practice - Color/shape of the week - Fun brain break ๐ย End of Class ๐ย (Both Days): - Sharing time: Students can share their worksheets, one thing they loved about the class, or one item that begins with the focused letter, number, color, or shape of the week! ๐ฃ Upcoming Themes ๐ฃ ๐ New Year ๐ปโโ๏ธ Polar Animals ๐ฆ Dinosaurs ๐ Emotions ๐ Ongoing Support ๐ I will provide parents with worksheets to print and have their learners complete during or after class. These are optional and your child can use a whiteboard or blank paper at home if you would prefer. Crayons or colored pencils are helpful to have during class time. I will mute all students when needed to minimize background noise. Please make sure your learner either knows how to mute/unmute. Please sit with them during class so they are able to share when it's their turn. I want your little learner to feel excited to share and not get frustrated when they cannot unmute themselves. From the teacher side of Zoom, we can only "ask to unmute" but the student will have to actually click the button to unmute themselves. โญ Let's Communicate โญ I will share a monthly newsletter in the classroom at the start of every month. This newsletter will be a valuable resource for you, containing weekly topics we will cover, any schedule changes, and helpful tips and tricks to support your learners at home. Let's work together to create a nurturing and successful learning environment where your child can thrive! ๐ 2024-2025 School Year ๐ ๐ No classes will be held on: ๐ September: 2nd, 25th October: 14th November: 11th (Holiday), 21st (Afternoon), 25th - 29th (Fall Break) December: 16th - 31st (Personal and Winter Break) January: 1st - 6th (Winter Break), 20th (Holiday) March: 17th - 21st (Spring Break) The last week of classes is May 19th - 23rd!
