Students will learn a strategy for quickly organizing their thoughts knowing they have only 60 seconds to get their point across. Learners will then take turns choosing a random number from my post-it board which holds 30 random topics for the game and then stand up and speak on that topic for 60 seconds. They will: 1- Choose a random topic from the board (i.e. cookies) 2- identify ONE thing they want to share (i.e. Tate's Crispy Chocolate Chip cookies are the BEST!) 3- Identify three bullet points to share that lead you to that conclusion (variety of cookies, variety of textures, the first bite) 4- Practice! Practice! Practice!
I love having fun with my students and calming their nerves around standing up to speak in front of others. I create a supportive space where students feel comfortable taking their turn and trying out some new ideas. We laugh a lot and we also learn a lot from each other!
