Welcome Families - Are you looking for an interactive engaging fun beginner reading class for you 5 to 7 years old? If so, then you have found it! The goal of this class is to strengthen phonemic awareness, phonics, and sight word skills. We will work to increase vocabulary and decoding skills, reading fluency, and comprehension strategies. A certified teacher will guide learners through building confidence and improving important skills necessary to be a successful independent reader.

Learners may join class at any time as each class is independent and does not build upon one another. Class consists of weekly lessons taught on a loop schedule. Whether you are looking to supplement an in-person program or looking to add to your homeschool curriculum, then do not hesitate to join today. This class great for learners needing extra support with the reading levels mentioned above. A certified teacher will guide learners through building confidence to improve upon their beginning reading skills.

During each session learners will engage in fun interactive activities that may include: phonemic awareness & phonics games, sight words, vocabulary and fun stories to read & discuss. We will use interactive slides during the session. I will also screen share any activities or materials needed to participate and have fun. Please have a dry erase board & marker nearby should we need to use it. Paper and pencil/markers work too. These materials of course are optional, but will make learning more meaningful & fun.

Class Expectations for Learners:
~Have fun!
~Follow directions (Use your listening ears.)
~Be respectful to everyone in class. (Use kind words.)
~Be patient (wait patiently while others are talking.)

Class Notes:

~Class duration is 25 minutes (class could end a few minutes early or go over by a few minutes due to the number of learners and the overall pace of the class depending on varying skill levels.)
~Please have a small dry erase board, eraser, and marker available to use during class time (paper and marker, pencil, or crayons work too!) These items are optional and are meant to enhance your child’s learning experience.

Class Policies:

~Learners will be moved from the waiting room into the class at the scheduled start time. If no learners are present, I will log out of the classroom after waiting for ten minutes.
~Each class session will begin at the scheduled time even if learners are not present.
~Parent/Caregivers are encouraged to be nearby off camera (to the side of the screen/camera as this is an Outschool policy.) to assist your learner with technical operations of the live session (sign-in, making sure camera is turned on, muting/unmuting if needed, and sign-off at the end) I usually do not mute learners, however, if there is a feedback noise or noise in the background such as a tv or someone talking on a phone then I will use the mute feature so that all can hear throughout the class.
~Due to the number of learners and their pace moving through the planned activities, it is possible that we may end a few minutes early or go over by a few minutes.
~I will follow the refund policy outlined on the Outschool website.

I look forward to working with you and your child. I thank you for the opportunity to teach your learner.
