This is a special Valentine's Day class! This interactive class will be hands-on as we dive into Pop Art culture. We will learn a brief history on Pop Art and the characteristics that make this art so unique. We will then work together in class to make our own Pop Art Valentine project using supplies that you *hopefully* have on-hand at home. This will be a free-hand drawing that will allow the students to use their own creativity with a teacher-guided tutorial. There will also be a time for the students to socialize and share with each other. We will have time at the end of class to display our beautiful work!

Students will learn about the history and characteristics of Pop Art. Student will apply the knowledge learned to draw and color their own creation with a guided lesson and tutorial from the teacher during class.

Paper (White would work best, but any color will work!) Pencil Ruler Scissors Thick black marker, such as a Sharpie Markers, colored pencils, crayons, or paints- You CHOOSE! Optional- Your favorite Valentine candy to munch on during class

My name is Melissa Tipton, and I am a certified teacher with a Language Arts concentration who has experience working with all levels of students from preschool to high school. I have a wide range of experience in education working in both the public and private school setting, individualized tutoring, serving as a Girl Scout leader, and working as a nanny! I currently work online teaching English to students who live across the world, and I am excited that you have chosen me to work with your child! In my free time, I like to read, craft, travel, and visit every Escape Room that I can with my family.
