12 lessons//12 Weeks
 Week 1
Lesson 1
What are Mammals? What is Taxonomy?
In this lesson, we'll explore Taxonomy and Classification Systems and how they can help scientists to understand living things. We'll explore what the word "mammal" means, and what qualifications of mammals can apply to our favorite Pokémon.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Primates - Monkeys, Apes, Prosimians, and Humans
What kind of monkey is Mankey? What's so special about the Pokemon Passimian? We'll explore all of your favorite primate Pokemon in this lesson.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Miscellaneous Mammals
This lesson is a hodge podge of weird Mammals and the "orders" they are from. We'll compare these weird Mammals to weird Pokemon! Lesson includes the following mammal orders: Dermoptera (flying lemurs), Hyracoidae (hyraxes), Insectivora (insect-eaters), Edentata (toothless mammals), Pholidata (pangolins), Tubulidentata (aardvarks)
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Lions, Tigers, and Bears - in Pokémon!
Let's learn about the many, MANY Pokemon inspired by the Order Carnivora. So many, it takes two lessons to cover them! Why do they make such great Pokémon inspirations?
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Carnivora Continued
In the last lesson, we learned about the "cat-like" carnivores. This lesson will include the "dog-like" carnivores, including dogs, wolves, foxes, bears, raccoons, and more!
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Aquatic Mammals
This lesson focuses on mammals that live in/around water, including these three Mammal Orders: Cetacea (whales), Sirenia (manatees and dugongs), Pinnipedia (seals, sea lions, and walruses).
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Lots of Hooves
Artiodactyla is the order of even-toed hoofed mammals, including pigs like Tepig, camels like Camerupt, and bulls like Tauros.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Even More Hooves
Pinnipedia is the order of odd-toed hoofed mammals such as horses like Rapidash and Zebras like Zebrstrika. We'll also cover the order Proboscidea (elephants).
 Week 9
Lesson 9
Bats!
The Order Chiroptera is the order of bats! There are so many cool bat Pokemon to explore - including Woobat, Zubat, Noivern, and more! Plus - what weird bats could be the inspiration for some future Pokemon designs?
 Week 10
Lesson 10
Rabbits and Rodents
This lesson includes the Order Lagomorpha (rabbits and hares) and Rodentia (rodents). Some of the most popular Pokemon are covered in this lesson, including Pikachu!
 Week 11
Lesson 11
Rule Breaking Mammals
Marsupials and Monotremes don't quite fit the definition of "mammal"...and yet we still let them in! In fact, Monotremes might be the closest comparison to our Pokemon mammals, because of their egg-laying habits. Let's learn about these weird mammals and their Pokemon counterparts.
 Week 12
Lesson 12
Conclusion
This is a review week where were recap the qualities of mammals. We also cover some "Fakemon" that other people have made, and explore some Pokemon that might be mammals (and if they are mammals, what order should they be in?)
By the end of the course, students should be able to:

♦ Explain the basics of Biological Classification Systems.
♦ Understand how DNA, fossils, and evolutionary lines are all building blocks of modern taxonomy.
♦ Describe the commonalities that all mammals share.
♦ Compare and contrast two similar creatures using a Venn Diagram.
♦ Explain the traits and behaviors of a variety of mammals of different orders.
♦ Draw a cladogram and explain its usefulness in taxonomy.
♦ Know how to use a Dichotomous Key, and how to create your own.
