このクラスで学べること
In this class, students will learn creative writing techniques and apply them as they write a short story about getting their first Pokemon. Each week they will write a small part of the story with a focus on certain techniques. On the final day of class, students will read their stories out loud. I will start class with a presentation that introduces the techniques we will focus on that week. Students will have the opportunity to discuss how they can use these in their stories and ask any questions they have. I will then present the writing prompt for the week. If we have additional time, students will be able to work on their assignment for the remainder of class. What they don't finish in class will be homework, which is due before the next class session. They will be expected to write 100-300 words of their story each week. I am a very relaxed teacher that encourages questions and discussion. I strive to give everyone a chance to speak. I want my classroom to be a safe environment where students can unleash their creativity. Learners will be able to interact by discussing their stories with each other. We will also play writing games such as mad-libs during certain classes. While spelling and grammar are not the main focus of this class, students should have a good enough grasp on it where there writing is understandable. Weekly Breakdown: Week 1: Writing basics (dialogue, first-person past tense, paragraphs.) Introduction to short story prompt. Pokemon Mad-libs game. Week 2: Setting the scene and describing feelings. Prompt: Finding out about getting your first Pokemon. Week 3: Writing descriptions and using five senses. Prompt: Meeting your first Pokemon. Week 4: Writing conflict and describing action. 教師の専門知識と資格
学士号 Indiana Universityから 科学 へ
I received my minor in creative writing from Indiana University Northwest. During my time there, I took many writing workshops and honed my skills. Several of my short stories have been published in independent zines. I also have experience with writing and revising a novel. Many of my close colleagues have literary agents and are on the road to publication. I have acted as a critique partner for them, helping them get their stories to a publishable level. I also am very knowledgeable about the writing industry and what it takes to improve one's creative writing.
