Each week we will look at an ancient poem!  Poems will be listed in the class description and the classroom each week in case students want to look at them ahead of time or print them out.  I will read the poem aloud and then we will check for understanding before continuing.  Students will be asked what the words and meaning of the poems might tell us about the people writing them and the world in which they lived!  This will be done through a series of questions to provoke thinking and help students start to think critically for clues and implications in the lines of the poem.  I will provide additional context as we go, showing them the ancient place the poem was written and any relevant historical information!
