このクラスで学べること

This multi-day class is dedicated to playing with play dough while practicing our shapes! We will meet weekly on Saturday mornings. The schedule is listed below:
Week 1 (March 20th): Square
Week 2 (March 27th): Circle
Week 3 (April 3rd): Triangle
Week 4 (April 10th): Rectangle
Week 5 (April 17th): Review of all shapes and wrap up

This will be a very hands on class, as play dough is required for each lesson. We will practice taking turns speaking, as well as practicing our fine motor skills by manipulating the play dough to build our shapes. This class is perfect for learners who are just beginning to understand shapes, as well as learners who have mastered shapes- we can all learn with each other! I hope learners who sign up for this course are able to attend all 5 sessions, but I'm open to students who are only interested in joining specific weeks- just message me to coordinate if this is the case!

If your learner is bringing a play dough tool such as a knife or scissors, parental guidance is required.

受講に必要なもの

A work mat for each shape will be uploaded to the class homepage- please print these
At least 4 colors of any kind of dough- this can be play dough, homemade, etc. (Play dough contains gluten and cannot be used by students who are Celiac or have a gluten intolerance.) 

Not necessary, but bring if you have- play dough tools such as rolling pin, play dough knife/scissors

Hello, and welcome to my corner of the virtual learning world! I'll be offering classes focused on early literacy practices for your young children. Creating a student who loves reading begins at birth. As cheesy as it sounds, it's true! I am hopeful that I can make a difference in your young child's literacy here on Outschool. I'll also be creating craft classes, because when I was a young student, crafts were one of the most fun ways to make learning come alive. In addition to literacy and craft classes, I plan to add classes based on the four main subjects from elementary school- math, language arts, social studies, and science.

I'm a licensed early childhood teacher (this is considered preschool- 3rd grade in my state), and have taught 2nd grade for the last 3 years. I also have experience teaching preschool for over 5 years during my college career. My bachelors degree is in early childhood education and my masters degree is in curriculum and instruction. 

I'm currently a work at home mom to my one year old boy. We love going to the park, exercising, traveling to new places in the world, and playing with our dog!

I'm very open to creating classes based on what you'd like your learner to practice, so please don't hesitate to reach out and share your ideas!  I look forward to meeting your young learners from around the world.
