In this engaging one-time course, learners will review the alphabet with a chant, practice vowel sounds, learn the letters S, T, and L, and begin blending sounds to read their first CVC words.

Interactive activities and bright visuals will keep students involved with their learning as we spin the Rhyming Wheel and rhyme the word, hear silly sounds as we review and learn, practice writing letters on the screen, and play a game to reinforce the lesson material. 

The teacher will guide learners to participate as a group in all activities, so there is little to no downtime in this lesson! Learners will be encouraged to shout out letters, talk to the letters, make sounds, and join in hand gestures for a memorable, action-packed, 25-minute learning journey.

A Google Slide show will be screen shared by the teacher only. The Wheel of Names used for the rhyming words and review game will be screen shared by the teacher only.  The learners will not click links,  access anything outside the Outschool Zoom classroom, or log into accounts. 

By the end of the lesson, learners will have a firm grasp of which letters are short vowels and the sounds they make.
