音楽とともに描く: ディズニー・シリー・シンフォニー・スケルトン・ダンス

The children will listen to the music and talk about the pictures they imagine from the music. They will then watch the video of the silly symphony.

 A class discussion will talk about how the music makes the film come alive and we will examine how the rhythm and instruments are used differently; loud or quiet, fast or slow, legato or staccato.

After the discussion, I will ask the children to consider the conductor and how he might be using his hands to guide the orchestra. I will ask children to demonstrate some of their ideas using extracts from the music. This will then lead into the creative part of the lesson. The children will be encouraged to listen and be creative, presenting their feelings and emotions that are aroused whilst listening to the music. Using the artistic materials of their choice (outlined below), they will be encouraged to paint me a wonderful expression of sound and music. The more abstract the better. Colours, shapes, contrast, blending will all be discussed before they begin. I will present some ideas of different paintings I have done for a variety of different pieces of music. After the music has finished, we will come together and discuss our experiences and show our creations. We will be interested to compare how each child creatively presents their perceptions of the music.
