このクラスで学べること

In this lab based class students will learn how our bones and muscles: 
How may bones do we have? 
What is the skeletal system? 
What is the muscular system? 
What is the skeletal muscular system?  

During the class, I will begin with a short discussion using Google slides followed by a video to reinforce what was discussed. Students do not need to have prior knowledge to participate in class. Next, students will participate in a hands-on lab where they will create a movable finger. 

Materials needed for this class are listed below.

What kinds of classes do I teach...
Hi, I’m teaching all things related to science through presentations, videos, and hands on exploration! Topics include, but are not limited to biology, astronomy, chemistry, food science, ecology, renewable energy, etc. 

My professional background...
I earned my Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. I later went on to earn my Masters in Education from Regis University. I currently teach 6th grade science at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Colorado Springs.  This fall, I will be entering my 14th year of teaching. 

My teaching values and philosophy...
I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. I encourage my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as well embrace the differences of others. As a science teacher, I strive to inspire my students to explore their natural world through innovative and creative hands on experimentation. 

Something fun about me...
When I’m not teaching, you can find me outside running! I love running races from 10K’s to half marathons! I’ve run 63 races so far and I’m currently training for my first full marathon this fall with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
