In this one-time class, we will use two simple, inexpensive ingredients to easily create a curiosity-inducing substance called Oobleck! We use our hands to play with Oobleck, so please don't mind getting them dirty! Learners will refresh learning around the basic states of matter. Learners will use measuring and mixing to form a fascinating substance! Learners will learn about Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids and flex their thinking skills. They will learn from their experiments as well as some guidance from me around the mysteries of Oobleck!
Along with space to get a little messy, learners will need: A large box of cornstarch (at least 2 cups) Water (at least a cup) Measuring cups -- 1/2, 3/4, and 1 cup A medium-sized bowl or container Optional: Liquid food coloring makes this a bit more fun! A dish rag or towel if you'd like to cover your keyboard
