In Ms. Kim's ongoing phonics club, each week your learner will learn about a different multi-syllable topic in a fun, interactive and engaging way such as using charts, graphic organizers, reading, writing, and playing games. Also, I will post a simple question of the day that will give each learner an opportunity to express their opinion. Join for one, for two, or all our reading sessions! This class is great for homeschool or after school. Refund Policy All Ongoing classes have a standard refund policy: "Cancel subscription at any point, no refund for past subscriptions. Payments can be refunded within 24 hours of purchase. Below is a weekly breakdown of which phonics (multi-syllable) topic we will be working on. February 2023: Week of February 5: Compound Words (Example-campfire) Week of February 12: Open Syllable and the Macron Vowel Marking (Example- bro) Week of February 19: Closed Syllable and the Breve Vowel Marking (Example- blos) Week of February 26: VCCV Syllable Pattern (Examples- rab/bit or nap/kin) March 2023: Week of March 5: V/CV Syllable Pattern (Example- ro/bot) Week of March 12: VC/V Syllable Pattern (Example- sev/en) Week of March 19: Syllable Division with syllables ending in y (Example- sun/ny) Week of March 26: Syllable Division with syllables ending in le (Example- ap/ple) April 2023: Week of April 2: Vowel Team Syllables with ai (Example- rai/sin) Week of April 9: Vowel Team Syllables with ay (Example- cray/on) Week of April: 16: Vowel Team Syllables with ea (Example- ea/gle) Week of April 23: Vowel Team Syllables with ee (Example- fif/teen) Week of April 30: Vowel Team Syllables with oa (Example- rail/road) May 2023: Week of May 7: Vowel Team Syllables with ow (Example- shad/ow) Week of May 14: Prefix un (Example- un/clean) Week of May 21: Prefix pre (Example- pre/paid) Week of May 28: Suffix s (Example- mon/keys) June 2023: Week of June 4: Suffix es (Example- publishes) Week of June 11: Suffix ies (Example- supplies) Week of June 18: Suffix ful (Example-helpful) ***Since this is an ongoing course, after suffix ful class the course will repeat. ***Upon your enrollment, there will be a calendar of the topics for the upcoming weeks in the classroom. This course welcomes all types of learners who are looking for a supplement, enrichment, or some extra support in multi-syllable reading skills. I'll be using an Orton-Gillingham approach that was developed for children with dyslexia but would benefit any learner. ***(OPTIONAL) I will upload an activity packet each week of the class in the classroom for the learners to participate and practice the skills. All activity packets are optional to print. If you don’t have access to a printer: -You can use your own loose paper/notebook/dry eraser board and markers -You can use the annotation from Zoom. Learners should have: basic letter sound associations (including consonant blends and digraphs) concepts of short and long vowel sounds one syllable concept decoding and blending skills sight word recognition writing skills

Learners will learn about some prefix and suffixes.
Learners will practice decoding, blend, write and read multi-syllable words.

The lessons will be created on Google Jamboard or Google Slides in which I will share my screen with the students.
The students won't need an account to engage in the lessons.

Each week, I will upload an activity packet that goes along with the class. (OPTIONAL) All worksheets and supplies are optional however to maximize the learning environment the learner should have the following supplies: Depending on the learner and their reading need: -Paper, notebook, dry erase board -Pencils, crayons/colored pencils/markers, dry erase board markers ***If you don’t have access to a printer: -Your learner can use their own notebook, loose paper, dry erase board with dry erase markers. -Use the annotation on Zoom. (OPTIONAL SUGGESTION) When we use a graphic organizer in class, I would suggest using sheet protectors because it would be easier for your learner to write and erase using dry eraser marker instead of having to print multiple copies of the graphic organizer or any worksheets. Permanent markers will not work well and will ruin your sheet protectors.
