The students will show growth in their writing skills. I encourage them to keep the writing they've done during the class to compare to future writing.

I have 15 years of professional experience writing blogs, newsletters, marketing material, event promotion material, news, and how-to articles. I've also taught grammar school and middle school Language Arts classes, and middle school and high school writing classes, in several different homeschool group settings.

Each learner will be required to complete 5 writing pieces outside of class, including brainstorming, organizing, rough draft, and final draft of each. In-class time will focus on technique, feedback, style commentary, and discussion. Expect to spend 1 to 3 hours per week outside of class to complete these assignments.

The teacher will give comprehensive editing suggestions on completed final drafts, but will not give a letter grade. Students will receive feedback from peers in class.
