🌟 New to Outschool? Use code CREATIVE20 to save $20 on this class! 🌟 Some prior clay experience is requested, as there are many small detailed parts. In this self paced course, students will learn the steps needed to create each portion of our adorable miniature Nightmare Before Christmas charm sculptures. Audio and video will be used for each lesson. The suggested supplies are listed below and are necessary to complete the projects as shown. There are no Live meetings. This course uses Nearpod. Students may post their work and share their knowledge of the topics we are working on via messages or video recordings. Each lesson will be focused on different characters and/or items: Lesson #1 - Creating Jack and Sally head sculpts. Optional Converting to charms. Lesson #2 - Creating Zero and Oogie Boogie. Optional Converting to charms. Lesson #3 - Creating Oogie’s Dice and Worm’s Wort potion bottle Lesson #4 - Creating a Scenery Pendant Polymer Bake Clay (I like to use Sculpey III Polymer Clay). *A little clay goes a LONG way in miniature sculpting! Basic Sculpting tools, toothpick, dotting tool for eye sockets A cutting tool (clay knife or anything that you are comfortable with using) A non stick surface to work on A small rolling pin or paintbrush handle or anything smooth to roll out small pieces of clay. Variety of colors of polymer clay (including white, black, green, blue, red)... I used Glow in the Dark clay for Zero! Ultra Fine Point "Sharpie" permanent marker Metal Eye pins (Jewelry pins with loop) (to turn into charms before baking) Round or Oval Cookie Cutter OPTIONAL: If using baked clay: Clear Water based gloss glaze for after baking (I use Sculpey Gloss Glaze). **Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. *Lori King (Ms. Lori - She/Her) is a graduate of F.I.T in NYC. She worked in different areas of the design industry since 1991, from illustration, pattern making, garment construction to designing full story boards for buyers. She tutored Fashion Illustration for a few years to help other students complete their professional portfolios before their interviews. Lori is also a Polymer Clay artist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator.

*M Hopkins (Teacher M - They/Them) is a professional, published artist who creates comics and illustrations with a love for color theory! When they are not drawing, they can be found on the floor playing with their cat, Tuesday. BFA in Sequential Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design.

*Appiffany Joiner-McNeil (Mrs. Appiffany or Mrs. AJ - She/Her) Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, Cum Laude. She holds a Masters of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Teaching.
She brings STEM and psychology to the platform, with science projects, labs, and experiments.
As a member of the Society for Science, she will further extend students' curiosity into the STEM field without the restrictions of specific curriculums.

As an alumni of Cleveland Institute of Art with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Game Design they have a passion for interactive art and how they can push the boundaries of what interactive art means. Having been a visual arts assistant at their old high school Interlochen Arts Academy during the summers, teaching others and seeing the joy in what people create has motivated Rori to pursue teaching. In their free time Rori likes to aquascape. Creating aquariums of any variety of sizes and making little beautiful habitats for their favorite type of fish a Betta fish, they currently have 2 bettas and 4 tanks.

*Kierra Sullivan (Ms. Kierra - She/Her) is an illustrator, small business owner, and education professional here to teach you all about the joys of making art! She has a Bachelor's degree from the Savannah College of Art & Design, and her illustrations have been featured in card decks, art anthologies, and more.

*Samantha Ceccopieri (Miss C - She/Her) is an art instructor who would love to teach you how to take your art to the next level. She holds a Bachelors in Art Education from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and is a certified Art Teacher in the state of Texas. He has taught art, judged art competitions for the past 3 years. Samantha is bilingual as well, speaking Spanish and English fluently! Her goal is to help you increase your art skills through the teaching of the elements and principles of art, which are key to understanding how art works. Through that understanding you can be confident that you can draw anything you want!
