At the end of this course, students will be able to say, 
1 - "I understand how taking away public transportation in Kampala helps the bicycle business and how to describe that with supply and demand."
2 - "I can explain how increased demand for bicycles might bring prices up but the poverty of the customers keeps prices down. I can explain that in terms of supply and demand."
3 - "I can explain why having the royal family involved in Thomas the Train's 75'th Birthday will increase sales and I can use supply and demand to explain that."
4 - "I can describe the way China's live-stream shopping business grew to a billion dollars."
5 - "I can explain how live-stream shopping works and why shoppers get addicted."
6 - "I can explain the new laws in Quebec related to language training for companies bringing employs into Quebec to work."
7 - "I can discuss what impact the new laws in Quebec might do for companies wanting to do business in Quebec."

I have a master's degree in business administration and worked for Ernst & Young as a management consultant for over 9 years. I also have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and have worked as a chemical engineer for 7 years.  In addition, I started and ran my own business for many years before becoming a teacher. I was able to sell the company and have it work successfully so that it is still operational and thriving today.  I worked in the chemical industry, the automotive industry, and the computer industry.  I've also traveled and dealt with companies in many countries. Teaching this specific style of current events class has been my joy for a long time! I have 16 years of experience teaching middle and high school classrooms, and specifically delivering instruction at that level on the topic of social studies, world geography, and current events. I've also taught worldwide in multi-cultural environments in industry, and have several years of experience teaching on online platforms.

The class worksheets can and should be completed in the 45 minutes time that each recorded lesson has.  Some additional time of approximately 15 minutes per week will be spent by the student to complete the current event report page and upload it onto the class page. In addition, the students are expected to spend about an hour contributing to the final project.

As the learner progresses through the lessons each week, a checklist of "I can..." items listed in the Learning Goals will be given to the student to ask how confident are they in these items.  The teacher will circle back to the parents with her estimation of how well the student understood and the student will be given a chance to ask more questions to improve their understanding.
