In this one-time mythical creature drawing course, students will learn to draw a full body unicorn portrait, using colored pencil. Students will also learn about myths revolving unicorns throughout class. I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me. My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where discussion between teacher and students is encouraged. I ask students questions throughout the lesson to check for student...
1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a unicorn (full body). 2. Students will learn techniques for blending, applying, and layering colored pencil. 3. Students will learn techniques to draw semi-realistic, wavy hair. 4. Students will learn about myths revolving around unicorns.
***I will be using Prismacolor colored pencils, but students can use what they have. -Paper -Everyday pencil -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Colored Pencils: peach, dark blue, gray, black, white
