Do you have a student that loves unicorns, purrmaids, pupicorns, mermaids? Mystical Kindergarten Math Camp is a 4 day course will engage students with exciting, virtual themes that go along with all things mystical. Students will have fun, while also developing number sense through subitizing (recognizing a set without counting one to one) and solving theme related story problems in corresponding recording page. The teacher will guide the students through each lesson in a digital, interactive slide show format. The themes each day are the following: Day 1: Unicorns and Addition Day 2: Purrmaids and Addition Day 3: Fairies and Subtraction Day 4: Narwhals and Subtraction Each day will include a subitizing warm up followed by an interactive, guided story problem. Story problems will include both operations (composing/addition and decomposing/subtraction) which learners will be guided through with teacher support. Each day will also include a thematic page to record answers and show work. Students should be able to write numbers 0-10 independently, have some exposure to addition and subtraction and be able to count sets within 10.

I am a CERTIFIED teacher in the state of Texas with a BA in Elementary Education. I taught Kindergarten and First Grade. I have 8 years of classroom experience in the top school districts in Texas and now I am a full-time, stay at home mom.
I believe that developing number sense in a fun and creative environment, fosters a love for math! I also have a passion for teaching phonics, being dyslexic myself. I used the Science of Reading approach for my phonics program and have seen so many beginning readers flourish. Building a strong foundation for math problem-solving and phonics at a young age sets students up for success and builds confidence.
