In this camp, we will cover a variety of basic, age appropriate social skills, such as following directions, waiting our turn, being aware of and sensitive to others, getting along with and playing well with others. We will also learn about emotions: the role they play in our life, how we can recognize them in ourselves and in others, how we can calm ourselves down when we are feeling big emotions, and how we can help others who are feeling big emotions. We will also discuss how to deal with...
1. Learners will gain tools for following directions and developing patience. 2. Learners will understand that all feelings are okay; there is no such thing as bad feelings. 3. Learners will be able to recognize and name their feelings. 4. Learners will learn how to manage their feelings. 5. Learners will gain tools for resolving conflict with others. 6. Learners will gain tools for interacting with others. 7. Learners will gain an awareness of feelings in others. 8. Learners will learn tools for handling bullying.
I have had extensive training in the area of Social Emotional Learning, Bullying, as well as Trauma Informed Care. Most of my training has come through CASEL, Early Childhood Investigations Webinars, Second Step, Conscious Discipline, EdWeb, and Colorado Shines.
A breakdown of when each item will be needed is provided in the Class Description portion above. Welcome to my Outschool Page! Most people call me Miss Debbie. I'm a mom to three grown children; a wife to a fun and loving man; and a Grammy to a beautiful six-year-old granddaughter, a busy three-year-old grandson and a brand new granddaughter....
