Milly-Molly-Mandy (who always wears a pink-and-white striped dress) has all kinds of adventures both on her own and with a beloved community of pals. Together we'll meet Milly-Molly-Mandy's mother, father, grandparents, auntie & uncle, and her favorite buddies, Billy Blunt and little-friend-Susan. The Milly-Molly-Mandy stories were first published in 1928 and have been beloved by generations. We will be reading 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚-𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒚-𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒚 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 by Joyce Lankester Brisley. With chapters like "Milly-Molly-Mandy Goes Blackberrying", "Milly-Molly-Mandy Goes to the Sea", and "Milly-Molly-Mandy Minds a Baby", we'll have lots to discover about her world in a small English village where she learns big lessons. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲: -Each live meeting will cover a different chapter. I will read aloud, give opportunities for each learner to read to the class, and lead a discussion about the story. -Some chapters are shorter than others and will allow us to do a related project. Sometimes we'll have tea together, sometimes we'll color or create art, and sometimes I'll show a video or two that helps each learner understand life in Milly-Molly-Mandy's world. Come learn about the world of Milly-Molly-Mandy!
学習到達目標
Students will learn the art of reading aloud, listening in a group, and following a storyline. Sometimes we focus on the geography & setting of the story, sometimes on the historical period in which the books are set.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚-𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒚-𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒚 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌, Joyce Lankester Brisley, Kingfisher I will provide a supply list for the weeks when we'll have related projects, but they will always be items you should have around your home. I'm a mom, too, and I know how frustrating it can be to try to collect obscure supplies!

What happens when a learner is given the time and space to soak in a story and allow it to change their life? “Aha!” moments are my goal, and it’s why I adore leading worthwhile discussions about classic books. What good is it if we require a teen to read a book but our dry and uninteresting rendering makes them never want to pick up another book of note ever again?
Book classes for kids who want an adventure, middle and high school literature studies, introductory writing, and engaging story times for the youngest of readers and story lovers are my passion here on Outschool. We can give our kids so much more than our own experiences when we open a book and the world to them!
I have a BA in Music/Opera Studies and am currently studying for an MSt Literature and Arts at Oxford University. I homeschooled our 8 children for 25 years in which we studied, read, and learned through nearly 500 great books together. That experience and literary knowledge have spilled out into the literature studies I lead with adult learners and kids alike.
