このクラスで学べること
In this weekly musical theatre class, students will have a chance to build the skills they need to be a successful musical theatre performer using a musical song and dance number and song and script work. Each week we will work on vocal technique with exercises meant to warm them up and improve their power, range, support, and agility. We will then work on learning the chosen song from the musical section by section as I play the song and guide them to use vocal techniques such as mixing, belting, chest and head resonance, articulation, and more. We will discuss the musical, the characters, and do short scene and song work from the show so students can explore how to create a character and bring them to life on stage. Students will receive individual guidance on their script work or 16 bar audition cut of a song to help them improve their skills. Students will also learn the dance combination to the group song section by section each week through repetition. They will grow and sharpen the skills of singing, dancing, and acting necessary to musical theatre performance. その他の情報
保護者へのお知らせ
Learners will need an open workout space, proper footwear, a water bottle, and may need to stretch beforehand. While the dancing is beginner to intermediate level and does not involve complicated or dangerous physical movement, students should be safe to avoid injuries and should be properly supervised.
受講に必要なもの
Students will be expected to print out their lyrics and chosen scenes or have them on a separate device for the second class so they can read them while staying on camera. For the first class materials will be shared on screen and all materials/links will be provided in the classroom. If students want to practice the song for fun on their own they can get the music on iTunes, Spotify, or Amazon! Also a recording of the class will be made available to watch in the classroom so they can keep practicing. Students can dance with jazz/dance shoes or dance barefoot. Make sure students have some room to dance in.
