Students will learn about musical keys and what that means, in regards to music they are studying and playing. 
The students will gain an understanding of key signatures and how to recognize what key a song is in, based on the key signature. 
The students will memorize at least 5 major key signatures, and know how many sharps each one has. 
The students will learn how the chords in the key are based on the key signature. 
The students will be able to identify all of the chords in C major, G major, D major , and A major. 
Students will be able to play the major scales based on tetra chords. 
The student will understand which scale goes with each of the 5 major keys of C major , G major, D major , and A major. 
The students will create their own chord progression, in at least 3 of these keys. 
They will experience improvising on the correct scale for C major, G major and D major. 

  I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher.  I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. 
I was head of the music department at a private high  school in Maryland. 
I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio. 
  I have a bachelor's degree in music education, from Towson University, plus graduate studies in music education.
