このクラスで学べること
In this masterclass, students will learn live performance etiquette through experience and observation. Each class begins with an introduction to general performance and audience etiquette guidelines. Then, students who wish to perform will play their song or songs for the class. It is recommended that students perform a piece or multiple pieces for a total time of two to five minutes. For classes of 5-7 performing students, students can prepare up to 8 minutes of music if they like. After each student’s performance, the instructor will provide a small adjudication elaborating details they enjoyed/appreciated and advice for future improvement. At the end of the class, the instructor will open the the time for guided discussion about the masterclass. All students are taught how to be affirming and positive audience members as well as excellent performers. For students wishing to perform with some sort of accompaniment, please message instructor for accompaniment ideas if needed.

受講に必要なもの
Those who wish to be accompanied should have their track queued on a separate device with an external speaker. YouTube has many karaoke tracks for free! Appcompanist is also a wonderful application, but it costs. If given enough notice, I may be able to record and supply a simple accompanist.

教師の専門知識と資格
I believe that practice, moderate guidance, and positive reinforcement prepare future performers for great success! As an active performer, I’ve personally attended hundreds of auditions and have picked up valuable insight into the performing process along the way. My Masters of Music degree in performance gave me the educational tools and experience as a teacher, masterclass adjudicator, and facilitator. I have even taken these principals to non-musicians in rehabilitation centers including a Brooks Rehabilitation in Florida, where I teach the value of clear voice use in one’s overall presentation of confidence and well being.
