This one-time science class will be interesting to anyone curious about how, where, and why mushrooms grow. No prior knowledge is needed. We will explore how mushrooms are part of the Kingdom Fungi and are not plants, how they grow extensive mycelium underground before we see any evidence of them above ground, and how they germinate from spores.  We will also talk about some mushroom folklore including mushroom fairy rings and the scarlet elf cap mushroom.
