多言語マニア：ロマンス語への招待

This course is designed to pique students' interest to learn world languages and incorporates visual and auditory skills. Speaking and active participation are essential requirements.

Say hello, and more, in 5 languages! Did you know that linguistics is the scientific study of language?! During this course, learners will discuss the origins of languages, discover language families, and practice speaking short, simple words and phrases in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and a few "bonus" languages too! Learners will also be taught techniques for acquiring world languages and how to utilize translation tools properly.

After greetings and introductions in English, basic greetings in Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and a "bonus" language will be taught.  The concept of language families, specifically the romance language family, will be discussed using common vocabulary for learners to see, hear, and say. Learners will practice listening, speaking, reading and writing. A graphic organizer will be provided for learners to use during class and to complete after class for continued learning. 

This class is taught in English with vocabulary instruction in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French. Students will learn

-25 basic words and phrases 
-cognates 

Upon completion of this class, learners who want to learn Spanish can enroll in my beginning small group class on Mondays, Tuesdays or Saturdays to practice Spanish with learners around the world.
