💙Level 5 Word Study Tutorial is designed for readers who are learning to read and spell complex words such as ‘firefighter.’ They are mastering many digraphs such as /i-e/ and /-igh/. They want to know more about word categories like 'opposites' and 'compound words.' 

💙 CLASS CONTENT: Each 45-minute includes
Via screen-sharing: 
1️⃣ 🎶 I sing a brief letter-sound song with a slideshow of pictures/lowercase print letters. The songs reinforce memorization of digraphs such as 'ai' for 'airport.

2️⃣ 🖼️ I introduce 8 colorful photos for a topic such as "synonyms," ('joyful/ecstatic') focusing on names, spellings and descriptions.

3️⃣ 📝 Using the dotted-font word list provided, I demonstrate writing each word twice while spelling the letter names.

4️⃣ 📖 I encourage the learner to read each label, describe the picture or use their word in a sentence, and observe as I match each label with a picture. 

5️⃣ 🖼️ 📝 📖 We repeat the same process with another 8 photos: introduction, writing, reading and discussion. 

6️⃣ 🎉 I guide a fun cooperative BINGO game, emphasizing picture description, conversation and correct spelling. 

🥰 My teaching style is warm, attentive and patient. This class is similar to a Montessori classroom experience; one-on-one lessons focusing on vocabulary, spelling, conversation, and learning to read fluently! 

💙 Each session focuses on reading 16 words in one category, such as
📃simple plural nouns with /-s/ e.g. ‘raincoats’ &  ‘chauffeurs’
📃 /-es/ plural nouns e.g. ‘benches’ & ‘potatoes’
📃 /-ies/ plural nouns e.g. ‘puppies’ & ‘stories’ 
📃 irregular plural nouns e.g. 'mice' & 'children.'
📃 homophones e.g. 'deer/dear' & 'knight/night' 
📃 more homophones e.g. 'ate/eight' & 'pair/pear’
📃 puzzle words (sight words that are spelling ‘rule-breakers’) e.g. 'friends' & ‘mountain’
📃 color names e.g. 'vermilion' & 'aquamarine'
📃 synonyms e.g. 'joyful/ecstatic' & ‘looking/gazing’
📃 more synonyms e.g. 'delicious/scrumptious' & 'calm/peaceful'
📃 antonyms e.g. 'cheerful/discouraged' & 'nighttime/daytime'
