--Learners are taught about the life and contributions of Martin Luther King Jr. --Topics covered include inequality, equality, segregation, and boycott --The class is structured as follows: Learners fill-out a KWL chart, Discuss vocuabulary words, participate in the viewing and reading of a Powerpoint about MLK. Learners use information from their booklet and powerpoint to engage in the coloring and labelling of the events of MLK's life, True or False coloring, and the filling-out of the I Have a Dream Worksheet with Word Bank. The class concludes with learners drawing, and writing a paragraph of MLK's idea of Peace. --I will facilitate discusssions amongst learners. My teaching style is fun and easy going. Each learners' contribuiton or lack there of is celebrated and encouraged. --Learners will interact throughout the course as readers, responders, and support to their peers. --Learners need experience with reading, listenening, and some writing.
