Students will learn how to draw objects, in this case, Angels, by watching me draw portions of the drawing, a little at a time. They will follow along.  I would like them to be able to see my paper as it is filmed over my shoulder.  The class will be structured with me drawing what can easily fit into 45 minutes.  We will draw or color, one class at a time, and take four classes on one project. The first class will be drawing only.  The students will follow along with me as I draw the angel, step by step and all the details on her.  This might take the whole 45 minutes, but if it doesn't then I will have them begin to add the sharpie over their pencil lines.  The second class will be finishing up the sharpie and beginning to add colored pencil if time allows.  I will be demonstrating the color technique to guide them through the coloring process.  The third class will be continuing to add the colored pencil and enhancing it with shading and the Fourth class will be completing the color shading and gel pen details to the Angels!  They will be done in true Folk Art style, with stylized features and bold color choices.   If the students finish before the class is over I will give them another very short drawing project which will fill the remaining class time during the 4th class.  The nature of a drawing class is that students have different speed levels in which they finish their drawings.  I encourage them to be careful and go slowly so as not to make a sloppy drawing, but I encourage them to quicken the pace if it appears they might not finish on time.  I periodically, during each lesson, ask them to show their work to me individually, so that I may make suggestions and guidance, assuring the best possible piece of art for their age level.
