このクラスで学べること
In this course, we will work together to learn the steps needed to create each portion of our clay creations. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way. We will condition, cut, roll and form our pieces. Then we will assemble the parts and get them prepared to be baked after class is over. The supplies are listed below and are necessary to complete the projects. Students will personalize their creations to look however the wish after the basic structures are complete! *There will be a paper template to size (miniature) for students to use for the architecture of the house. This paper must be printed and cut out prior to class. NOTE: Students may use air dry clay if they prefer not to use polymer bake clay Supplies Needed to complete the projects: Polymer Bake Clay (for reference I use Sculpey III, as it rolls out easily) A small rolling pin A sharp cutting blade or clay knife Super Glue (for use after baking) A non stick surface to work on Variety of colors of clay (one brick of brown, plus small amounts of any other colors you want to use) White glitter (for sugar) Aluminum Foil Wooden toothpick Optional: White LIQUID Sculpey clay (used for "icing") *Please have your paper template pieces cut out prior to starts time. We will trace these on our clay.

**Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You may do this after class. Parental help is necessary.
Students will be using a cutting tool. Please go over blade safety.

Our Awesome Teachers:
*Lori King (Ms. Lori - She/Her) is a graduate of F.I.T in NYC. She worked in different areas of the design industry since 1991, from illustration, pattern making, garment construction to designing full story boards for buyers. She tutored Fashion Illustration for a few years to help other students complete their professional portfolios before their interviews. Lori is also a Polymer Clay artist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator.

*M Hopkins (Teacher M - They/Them) is a professional, published artist who creates comics and illustrations with a love for color theory! When they are not drawing, they can be found on the floor playing with their cat, Tuesday. BFA in Sequential Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design.
B.F.A in Sequential Arts
*Appiffany Joiner-McNeil (Mrs. Appiffany or Mrs. AJ) Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, Cum Laude. She holds a Masters of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Teaching.
She brings STEM and psychology to the platform, with science projects, labs, and experiments.
As a member of the Society for Science, she will further extend students' curiosity into the STEM field without the restrictions of specific curriculums.

*Rori VanMaanen (Teacher Rori - They/Them)
As an alumni of Cleveland Institute of Art with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Game Design they have a passion for interactive art and how they can push the boundaries of what interactive art means. Having been a visual arts assistant at their old high school Interlochen Arts Academy during the summers, teaching others and seeing the joy in what people create has motivated Rori to pursue teaching. In their free time Rori likes to aquascape. Creating aquariums of any variety of sizes and making little beautiful habitats for their favorite type of fish a Betta fish, they currently have 2 bettas and 4 tanks.

*Kierra Sullivan (Ms. Kierra) is an illustrator, small business owner, and education professional here to teach you all about the joys of making art! She has a Bachelor's degree from the Savannah College of Art & Design, and her illustrations have been featured in card decks, art anthologies, and more.
