Mindfulness for kids helps children develop a deeper sense of self-awareness, better control of their emotions and improved concentration. The exercises we will focus on are simple enough for any child to perform. For example, in mindful listening children are guided through a brief meditation during which they pay attention to different sounds. A regular practice of mindful listening helps children calm and focus before they need to attend to school-work or chores. Some activities students will engage in are: -Mindful Listening: guided meditation or mindful story time -Mindful Breathing: quick and fun breathing techniques to focus and calm emotions or fidgets! -Mindful Seeing: Using silly objects as a focal point during our guided meditation or story time! Students are welcome to sit on a pillow, lay on a yoga mat, bring essential oils, light a candle (with adult supervision), or whatever helps them bring a relaxed mind and heart to Mindful Moments class! ,

After teaching social skills and growth mindset for many years, I have been asked to teach moments of mindfulness and self awareness for students. Often times, our own self doubt inhibits are social, emotional, and intellectual growth. I am excited to help grow your students' self awareness, their belief in themselves, and teach them coping skills to manage all the emotions and feelings that are a natural part of our growing minds and hearts!
