Welcome to US History! Students will learn the history of the United States as it becomes a modern nation. Students learn to use research, writing, and critical thinking skills in this class. Throughout the course, students will learn about the value of public service and the traits of good leaders. Students will learn about history and explore themes of geography, economics, civic responsibility, and government. Each week, the students will receive three to five lessons in the Classroom....

Learners can analyze different historical period, ideas, and themes and make connections among them. Learners will be able to describe the impact of economic forces after the Civil War. Learners will be able to describe the role of the United States during World War I, The Great Depression, and World War II. Learners will analyze the impact of social and political movements in recent United States History. Learners will evaluate the role of the United States as a world power.
I have over twenty years experience working with and teaching students. I have a bachelor's degree in both History and Economics. My master's degree is in Higher Education. I also have a juris doctorate degree in Law. Most importantly, I have a passion for teaching, history in particular!

Each week learners will receive three to five assignments that will be completed in Google Classroom. The assignments include readings and activities. Activities include fill-in-the-blank, writing open-response questions, drawing, and many others. Students will also complete three projects during the class. Each project will be centered around one of the topics we are learning about and students will have a variety of choices to choose from that matches their interests. Examples of projects include: making a short film, developing a virtual presentation, writing an essay, creating a game, conducting a family interview, creating a fashion review, creating a pamphlet, and many more.授業以外に週あたり 1 - 2 時間の学習が期待されます

This course will sometimes contain topics of a sensitive or controversial nature. Discussion will be kept at an age appropriate level.
Resources from the Library of Congress Native American Collection and the National Museum of the American Indian will be used during our unit on the First Civilizations as well as throughout the course. This include maps, images, recordings, first-hand accounts and documents.
