PowerPoint slides with colorful pictures will be used to explain the definitions of and examples of the parts of speech in the English language. Examples of sentences that utilize the various parts of speech will be provided by the teacher. Students will then be invited to try to use the parts of speech in their own sentences. Students will be encouraged to engage in calculated risk-taking with their approach to encountering this content. The teacher will strive to create a "safe" environment where making mistakes is a valued and understandable part of the learning process.
