>>>PLEASE READ BEFORE ENROLLING: The live portion of this class is an hour-long, fast-paced, lecture-based presentation, with limited Q&A breaks as time permits -- you know your learner(s) best, so please consider if the session length and format is a good fit for them<<< January 16th is the annual Appreciate a Dragon Day! While this day was originally created to celebrate dragons in books and film, zoologists also like to take the day to celebrate all the real "dragons" of the animal kingdom. :) So, in this special session we will meet not only the Komodo Dragon, but also Seadragons and Dragonfish...Dragonflies and Flying Dragons (!)...and more! 🐉 ***UPDATED*** every day is Appreciate a Dragon Day if you want it to be, so this class will stay active year-round. 😎 This single session will consist primarily of slides and multimedia content accompanied by lecture, but there will be opportunities to ask questions as time permits, and the classroom board can also be utilized before and after class to engage in discussion about the topic. Additional resources will also be posted in the classroom after the live session ends to help further your study of the species introduced in class!

All my zoology classes are open to discussing animal anatomy, including the reproductive system, and natural behaviors and bodily functions, including predation and mating, using proper scientific terms!
(Also for this class specifically, it should be noted that Komodo Dragons in particular are quite voracious in their eating habits, so sensitive viewers who may be disturbed by footage of prey animals being killed and eaten, blood, etc., may want to skip those particular videos.)

I also have nearly two decades experience as a home education advocate, including homeschooling my own children from preschool through high school.
