Who were they when they weren't painting, and what happened to them? This ongoing course spans gender, time period, and artistic style to understand the lives of famous European artists. Each meeting, we'll discuss an artist famous throughout the entire world: we'll learn about their childhood and family life, formal and informal education, adult life...
Students will learn about the lives of famous male and female European artists, the events that led them to make art and the styles they worked in, and how they achieved the level of fame they have today.
