PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CLASS CAN BE JOINED AT ANY TIME Teacher Bob here. I have taught grades 4 to high school for more than 25 years and I have to say one of my favorite courses to teach is math. Not only is math important (we use it in many areas of life), but it's also fun. Why did the girl (or boy) wear glasses to math class? Answer: It improved di-vision. Seriously, while I do crack the odd joke in class, my classes are both fun and educational. I'm a laid-back style teacher and encourage engagement with my students. At the beginning of class, we say our hellos and then down to business. I teach the weekly math concept using both PowerPoint and an Interactive Whiteboard. The students and I then work on problems together, before they work independently. All the while, Teacher Bob will be providing feedback on their work. So, for a fun and educational approach to reviewing grade five math, join us in Math Success with Teacher Bob. See you in class! The schedule of all math classes for 8th grade math concepts (based on common core standards) that we will cover from June 20 to July 25, 2024, will be as follows: • Week 1 June 20: The Number System: Radicals and integer exponents. • Week 2 June 27: Expressions and Equations: Linear equations. • Week 3 July 4: Functions: Evaluating and comparing. • Week 4 July 11: Geometry • Week 5 July 18: Statistics and Probability • Week 6 July 25: Mathematical Practices In our math lessons, we will work towards: 1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. 2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively. 3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. 4. Model with mathematics. 5. Use appropriate tools strategically. 6. Attend to precision. 7. Look for and make use of structure. 8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning. *** Dates and topics are subject to change with student needs *** Teacher Bob math courses and tutoring are a great help to young learners, whether they are public, private, or home schooled.

Hello parents and students!
I’m Teacher Bob, and I’m excited to bring over 40 years of teaching experience to my Outschool courses. After retiring from my local school board, I now teach exclusively on Outschool, dedicating my time to creating engaging math lessons for students of all ages.
I hold a Bachelor of Education, have completed graduate studies in science and math, and am certified to teach mathematics from elementary through high school. Additionally, I have a TEFL designation, which allows me to work with students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. My passion for mathematics and science drives me to make these subjects exciting and accessible, helping students see the real-world applications and beauty in both.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and grandkids, as well as fishing and skywatching—activities that keep me grounded and spark my curiosity about the world around us.
I believe that every student can succeed with the right support, and I strive to create a positive, supportive, and fun environment where students can truly thrive.
I look forward to helping your child excel in math and develop a love of learning on Outschool!
