After finishing a successful year of classes, students often let their hard-earned math skills fade during the summer. 
Practicing these skills allows kids to maintain their progress and enter the new school year with the confidence and ability to easily further their mathematics education. 

This course will cover all mathematics skills typically covered in middle school grade 6. 
We will start with basic concepts: properties of numbers, order of operations, decimals and fractions, percentages, negative numbers. 
We will progress to variables, inequalities, geometry, and introduction into statistics. 

The pace will be fairly quick as most of the material will have already been covered in school. But it is easy to get rusty with certain aspects of math, so we will sometimes take things slower to solidify those skills. The longer-than-typical sessions will allow us to extensively cover all the material without having to spend multiple days on the same topic. 

Since it is Summer, we will try to keep things light-hearted. Fun word problems, cool concepts discussion about how this kind of math is practical, and  visual depictions of mathematic equations (patterns, golden ratio, fractals).
