This class is a weekly ongoing private tutoring session for students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade math. The class time will be spent tutoring in the area of concern, and parents may communicate that are to me prior to class if they wish. If students need more support, you are welcome to schedule multiple weekly classes, or you can take advantage of my one-time tutoring sessions for occasional extra support. The learning goals for this class will be tailored to the individual student being taught. Please communicate the general math topic in advance of class, as this allows me to adequately prepare for your child's class (for example, adding and subtracting fractions, converting fractions to decimals, etc.).
I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a teaching minor in social studies, as well as a master's degree. I have taught students from preschool through high school for over 20 years in public, private, home, and online settings. Additionally, I co-founded and served as an administrator for a private academy for seven years, overseeing the curriculum development and overall content of the programs we used. During this period, I created much of the content, and I was able to tailor the program to the needs of the students and the families we served. I also taught students at the academy in all subjects and grades (preschool through high school).

Students should come to class with pencil and paper. I prefer that students also have a small markerboard and dry erase marker (in a dark color such as blue or red that can be easily seen). Additionally, if the student needs help with particular content or a particular assignment, I will need to see the lesson(s) they are working on.
