In this ongoing class, we will work together to learn and understand the rules of 5th-grade math. We will use video clips, slides, discussion, and games to understand how numbers work. Students will play games and interact with each other and the teacher to practice and master grade-level standards. 

The topics covered will include numbers and operations, algebraic thinking, operations in base ten, place value, fractions, measurement and data, and geometry.

I am an experienced public school teacher. I have taught reading, writing, and math at all levels from pre-kindergarten through college. I have extensive experience working with struggling learners, and I am well trained in working with learners to identify and overcome their individual challenges in reading, writing, and math.

Learners will be provided with class documents to print before class. Please ensure that your learner has their documents for each class meeting. Much of the class work will be based on these documents.
