In this course, we will practice addition and subtraction fact families until students exhibit fluency with the associated facts. Becoming fluent with math facts frees up brain space so that students may focus on more complex operations. Each class meeting will consist of direct instruction on a set of two or three fact families, followed by timed practice on addition and subtraction.
